He is currently resident DJ at LIQUIDITY, Christchurch’s European styled house bar/club, playing most Saturday nights (until March 15, when his 4 years at Liquidity come to an end!). Andy has held Christchurch residencies with Liquidity, Azure, Ferment, ClubNRG (all age party at Base nightclub), Smile Clubbing NZ, The Church and Trinity nightclub. He guests at Christchurch's top clubs - Ministry, Base, Mansion and the Civic. His largest crowd to date has been supporting Andy Hunter at Parachute Festival Extreme in front of 15,000 in 2003, and he annually DJ's for over 80,000 people! One of New Zealand's hardest working professional DJ's, Andy recently appeared in the main support slot at Lagered (NZ’s best known trance night) on it’s triumphant return to Christchurch after an absence of over two years.
Internationally he’s performed as far a field as Smile in London and Buzz in Chicago, and locally at Infusion’s 5th Birthday @ Base, Nitrate, Alpine Unity, Sundissential, Serotonin, Dirty Trancing, Area51, Wobble, Leviathan 2, First Mission, N-R-G and Samsara, and many more. He loves travelling and is always looking for an excuse to pack a crate and jump on a plane.
Primarily known for playing house, electro and uplifting & hard trance, with a background in corporate & private functions he is also able to spin commercial tunes, progressive, drum & bass, breaks or whatever else is required for a particular event. With a massive music collection of over 50,000 tunes on CD and thousands of records, Andy can play to pretty much any crowd.
In March 2004 he DJed live on stage at the Court Theatre as a cast member of GEEZERS, an improvised theatrical show that ran to packed houses for a full four week season, playing the beats of London’s East End, with breaks, D&B, garage and house beats. The show toured nationally for five weeks during August 2005. The success of Geezers was followed by another show with the same cast called ROCK ON (Oct/Nov 2005), where Andy sound-tracked a nightly feast of classic heavy metal.
In October 1999 with a business partner he started Pulzar FM, Christchurch's home of dance music, a radio station that is considered the leading high energy dance format in NZ. He expanded his love of radio with the launch of Urban Breaks, a d&b / hip-hop / breaks station, in November 2004, operating 24/7 from a studio in a popular inner city café.
Andy’s goal for 2008 is to complete his home studio and finish several productions he’s been working on, including finally completing a full release version of “Essence of Cool”, his first original uplifting trance tune from 2003.
